2024 Summer Provision
Junior Selection Policy & Weekly Training Schedule
The Junior Training Programme is set to start on Monday 15 April and marks the start of the 2024 season. Our Juniors train within their age groups with our youngest squads training on a Sunday morning, and the older age groups on midweek evenings.

This year our Boys & Girls Sections will also have the option to join pre-season Age Group training on a pay per session basis (carried out in the indoor hall at The Club) see Spond for weekly events.
Our lead coaches will continuously assess the attainment levels and speed of progress of all our junior members.. This process will allow all our girls & boys to be challenged at levels appropriate to them in both training sessions and selection for matches where appropriate.

Selection at Wimbledon Cricket Club is carried out by our lead coaches, who follow a three stage approach as follows:
Open Nights & Social Nights are scheduled every Friday evening, during which we open our Club doors to friends and family of our Juniors to come down to Church Rd and enjoy one of two types of evenings.
Open nights are an evening of informal outfield games & matches for all our juniors to enjoy. Our coaches will lay out some small sided games, be available to have quick catch up conversations with parents & join in the fun with the Juniors.

Social nights are put on in place of Open nights when we have a scheduled match on at Church Rd that particular evening. Juniors, their parents and guests are welcomed down to the Club to enjoy watching the match while socialising on the balcony or boundary. Our Mens 1st XI won the Surrey T20 competition last year, so the cricket on display will be top class!
These evenings are special opportunities to see the wider Club activities, get to know the next steps on the pathway and get behind the Club in a #OneClub #beapart spirit!
Our bar and restaurant will be open for light snacks, dinner and drinks on each of these fun nights, so we hope to see as many of the membership, and their friends/family down to enjoy an evening of cricket down at Church Road in 2023!
